Indigenous rap veteran CDQ teams up with Lady Zamar, Moonchild Sanelly, and Islambo on a cross-border anthem titled “UYABALABALA.”
On paper, this looks like a strange pairing. CDQ built his name as the Yoruba rap general who invented the “Woss Wobi” ad-lib and came up alongside the late DaGrin, so seeing him share a record with two of South Africa’s boldest female artists isn’t the obvious move. Somehow it still works.
Islambo rounds things out as the rising name among three established acts, and holding your own on a record this stacked says something about where his career is heading.
