Indigenous Eastern lyricist Beepee D Rapgod has released his new studio album “The Forerunner” as Igbo hip-hop listeners demand deeper street-oriented projects. The four-track album arrived with no guest features, placing the full spotlight on his rapid-fire delivery and traditional proverbs. Beepee handles the heavy lifting alone across the entire tracklist.
The Abia State native has been active in the industry since 2007 and dropped his debut album “Okwu Nwoke” in 2021. He has worked alongside Phyno, Jeriq, and Masterkraft over the years. Beepee D Rapgod is signed to COT Family record label and released “God and a Beast” in 2023.
The sound architects build a head-banging soundscape with hammering kick drums and crisp high-hat loops. They merge traditional Ogene percussion textures with current trap drum beats. The percussion-heavy arrangement stays wide enough for his bars to punch through cleanly. Because the production leans into cultural elements without abandoning modern trap structure, the album bridges heritage and contemporary sound.
