Woza Bakzin and GoldMax are back as the Durban duo unleashes their “Gqom In Black (GIB)” album, and this one carries serious weight.
The 14-track project dropped through Afrotainment, and it celebrates the raw energy of Durban Gqom with heavy drums, dark electronic sounds, and club-ready rhythms. So the record arrives as another strong entry in their growing catalog, and it does not hold back.
Because the duo pulled in heavy hitters for this run, the features list reads like a who’s who of South African dance music. DJ Tira steps in on “Kush’ibhadu,” while Zee Nxumalo and Funky Qla join forces on “Cosh’ uPin.” LeeMcKrazy, Blaqkidd, Naitor, Assiye Bongzin, Moh, DaLee, and CampMasters also add their flavor across the project.
The self-titled “Gqom In Black II” closes the album out, and it captures that dark, energetic sound perfectly. Yet the whole project feels built for loud speakers and packed dance floors, which is exactly where this duo thrives.
