Dutch DJ and producer Ginton is back with “No Nation (Ayakata),” a fresh collaboration featuring ODUMODUBLVCK, Fela Kuti, and Sholz. This one drops as part of a bold new chapter in his ongoing electronic-Afrobeat run.
The record is an authorized rework of Fela’s classic “Beasts of No Nation,” with approval from the Kuti estate. It also follows Fela’s posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy, so the timing carries real weight. Ginton handles production and guitar work, creating a fresh electronic foundation for Fela’s vocals. Sholz adds a smooth modern touch, while ODUMODUBLVCK brings his trademark street-driven rap intensity.
However, the original spirit stays firmly intact. “No Nation (Ayakata)” holds onto themes of resistance, resilience, and standing strong against opposition. The track connects Fela’s revolutionary voice with a new generation of African artists, bridging electronic music, Afrobeat, and Nigerian hip-hop. It gives a historic recording a contemporary setting while letting that rebellious energy reach fresh ears.
