Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke shifts gears with “Bombele,” leaving the quiet introspection of “Soul Healer” behind for something livelier and more upbeat. The new record finds him trading his usual drill-heavy foundation for a looser bounce.

Here comes the log drum, steering the production toward an Amapiano-leaning groove that feels fresh for this run. His delivery loosens with it too, less hurried and more lighthearted than anything since “Power House.” The rest clearly did him some good because the tension from earlier tracks does not carry over here.

This sits as track seven, and the shift is not just in atmosphere but in overall sound. After the mending came something closer to real lightness. “Bombele” works because it catches Kweku Smoke in a relaxed pocket, letting the rhythm lead while he rides it with ease.
