Adeyinka Alaseyori keeps the momentum going with “Jowo,” a fresh collaboration that brings O’femismile into the fold once again.

The record leans entirely on the appeal in its name. Please. More or less. Neither voice rushes past that request to get anyplace else. Adeyinka Alaseyori starts reserved, more asking than telling. O’femismile answers with something steadier underneath, not so much a second plea as a support for the one already given.

The bassline stays warm and the percussion stays light, so the request lands rather than drowns. There is nothing theatrical about the delivery either. No giant runs for attention. Only two voices sitting with the same ask, patient in their way of saying it.

That patience is what makes “Jowo” work. It trusts the listener to feel the weight of the words without extra drama. While so much new music shouts for notice, this one simply waits.
