Ghanaian music star Black Sherif returns with SUN SHERIF, a six-track EP trading heavy themes for a lighter, hopeful mood.

The project, also called SUN SHERIF VOL. 1, arrived via RBA / EMPIRE after his sophomore album IRON BOY. It runs about 15 minutes, so the whole thing moves fast. Fans expecting the same dark energy from earlier work will notice the shift immediately.

Instead of survival and street pressure, Black Sherif leans into love, hope, vulnerability, and personal growth. The sound stretches across Afrobeat gospel, R&B/Soul, and street Afrosounds. That blend keeps things fresh while his emotional honesty stays intact.

Opening track “Expresso” sets the reflective mood. “Run Around” looks at relationship tension, while “Forever” with AratheJay brings spiritual reflection. “Jolie” adds romantic warmth to close out the arc.

However, this is a different side of Black Sherif, yet it still feels like him. The optimism does not erase the depth that made his music connect in the first place. Instead, it shows growth without losing the core.
