South African Afro-pop and R&B artist Mawelele returns to a familiar creative space on his new song “Ngiyaz’fela,” featuring rapper Kwesta.
The title translates to “I’m in love with you,” so the record carries a romantic mood from the start. It is about saying what you feel, rather than hiding it.
Kinglee Beats produced the track, while Mawelele co-produced it himself. The sound mixes R&B and Afro-pop, and his melodicism blends with Kwesta’s opposing rap.
The new song follows Mawelele’s solo hit “Forever” and the pair’s earlier collaboration on “All My Life.” That reunion carries weight, because “All My Life” earned him a Metro FM Award for Best R&B Song.
