Cape Town rapper K.Keed links up with creative partner Orish on “Intro,” the opening track from their collaborative project uMgaranto II.

The song serves as the entry point to the duo’s second full-length effort together. Their first Umgaranto arrived in 2023, built around Gugulethu culture and older SABC references. This sequel picks up the same thread. Orish handles the creative direction while K.Keed brings the bars, and the Western Cape flavour runs through every line.

K.Keed, born Mihlali Koyana, started releasing music in 2019 and has since become a fixture in South African hip hop. She works under Gallo Record Company and her own K.Keed Records imprint. Her 2022 EP ALTER-EGO put her on the map, but the 2025 album Bite the Bullet solidified her place. She’s shared studio time with Nasty C, Ginger Trill, and A-Reece, and her approach to writing has always leaned intentional.

K.Keed’s delivery on “Intro” is calm yet assured. There’s no second-guessing in how she sits on the beat. That confidence is what gives the record its weight, because it doesn’t try to prove anything beyond what’s already there.
