Abigail Chams, the Tanzanian singer and multi-instrumentalist, is back with “Yoyo,” a fresh Afropop cut with a warm, polished groove. The single arrived through Sony Music Entertainment East Africa as her follow-up to “Your Loss,” with writing and composition credited to Chams herself. Production comes from Michael Charles Matthew, while Freeman Steven Kilavi handled the mixing for a clean finish.

For those unfamiliar, Chams is a Bongo Flava performer from Dar es Salaam who plays multiple instruments and released her debut EP “5” back in 2023. That project carried hit singles like “Milele” and “Nani,” helping her build momentum well beyond Tanzania’s borders. “Yoyo” leans into that same accessible pop sound, but the message here is more personal.

The track explores letting go of fear and self-doubt so you can embrace confidence and growth. It is an uplifting theme, yet the delivery stays light and rhythmic rather than heavy-handed. That balance keeps the record feeling contemporary while still carrying some weight beneath the surface.
