Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Bahd Man Niko opens his new EP with “Toofan,” a 47-second intro setting the tone for Son of the Stone.

The Lagos-born singer, whose real name is Adam Ademola Olawepo, released the project in July. “Toofan” works as a brief but atmospheric entry point. It doesn’t try to be a full song. Instead, it pulls listeners into the sonic world Bahd Man Niko builds across the rest of the EP, which includes features from Corizo on “Massachusetts” and Terri on “Bololo.”

The Ajegunle native has been steadily building momentum since his 2023 EP Off The Planet (OTP). He followed that with BOYAHNAH and BOYAHNAH II: Untold Stories in 2024, plus collaborations with Bella Shmurda. His fan base has grown through consistent releases and live performances, including an appearance at Bella Shmurda’s Tension Rave concert in Ibadan.

The production on “Toofan” is stripped back, allowing space for mood rather than melody. Bahd Man Niko’s vocal delivery is restrained, almost meditative. It’s a risky choice to open an EP with something this short, but it signals confidence in the material that follows.
