Biafra returns with a long-form cultural recording as “I Am Biafra” arrives for listeners wanting more than a quick single. The project, also listed as “I AM BIFRA,” is an extended folk and cultural recording released on October 8, 2023, through Best Highlife Music.
It runs for roughly 34 minutes and sits as the sole track on the album of the same name. So instead of separate songs stacked together, the record unfolds as one continuous piece from start to finish. That shape keeps the mood steady, because there are no breaks to reset the listener along the way.
Its focus rests on Igbo heritage, cultural identity, and the Biafran experience. Those themes stay at the centre of the recording throughout its runtime, while the extended format gives them room to breathe. “I Am Biafra” therefore asks for patience rather than a quick scroll past.
