Chella returns with “Pretty Nun,” a playful Afrobeats single that leans on attraction and youthful romance instead of heavy concepts. The record follows “Jiggle,” and it keeps his run moving without any major shift in direction.
Gstickz handled the production, building the beat on bouncy percussion and melodic guitar touches over a clean groove. Chella keeps his vocals loose across the melody. He never over-sings it, so the mood stays light from start to finish.
The subject matter stays simple. “Pretty Nun” is about attraction, and nothing weighty gets in the way of that. A catchy hook and a good mood carry the song, because not every release needs a big idea behind it.
The build-up was short but effective. Snippets went out with the #sweetmelody tag, while instrumental versions also circulated online. So fans were already humming the melody before the vocals landed.
Chella has built his name on this kind of playful writing. He often drops unusual phrases into his songs, yet the approach keeps working for him. “My Darling” took his music beyond Nigeria, and “Jiggle” kept the momentum going.
