The song, released under Ziiki Media, finds Asma Athuman Yusuph and Maasna Athuman Yusuph trading their usual high-energy delivery for something far more vulnerable. It centres on heartbreak, unrequited feelings, and betrayal.
The Swahili title translates closely to “I am healing my heart” or “I am nursing a broken heart,” so the mood is set before the first verse even lands. Jogabeat produced the record, building its Singeli foundation while leaving room for Bongo Flava melodies to breathe underneath. Cinematic visuals directed by Travellah add another layer to that story.
What makes “Nauguza Moyo” land is its timing. Not every listener wants a dance record right now, and the twins seem to understand that. They keep the tempo moving but let the sadness sit at the front instead of hiding it.
