DJ Jazzy’s “Indianpiano (Indian Ogene)” is an instrumental that fuses traditional Igbo sounds with South Asian-inspired melodies in a rare way. The DJ and music promoter, also known for his work with Xclusiveloaded, first introduced “Indianpiano (Indian Ogene)” in 2023, and it has kept pulling ears across online platforms since then.
The composition leans heavily on the metallic ring of the Ogene, the traditional iron bell at the heart of Igbo music. But DJ Jazzy does not stop there. He layers rolling melodic patterns and string arrangements that echo Indian film music, so the two worlds meet without either one folding. The track also carries touches of Igbo Highlife and contemporary Afro-inspired dance music.
It goes by other names too, including “Ogene Indian” and “Indian Ogene (Throwback).” Some listeners simply call it “Indianpiano,” a nickname that stuck because of how different it sounds from the usual Nigerian instrumental drop. Social media videos and digital platforms have helped push the record to fresh audiences.
If you like indigenous Igbo sounds or experimental fusions, this one is worth your time.
