Kenyan rapper Kapitani keeps his momentum rolling as his new street anthem “Kitemeo” takes over Nairobi’s airwaves and playlists.

The record, produced by Capo, has already pulled 168,000 views on YouTube Music in just two days. That number alone tells you something about how fast this one is moving. Kapitani’s delivery here is loose and conversational, almost like he is chatting with a friend rather than performing. He switches between English, Kiswahili and Sheng without warning, which gives the whole track a natural, unfiltered feel.

His vocal work carries the weight of the story. References to Korogocho, black coffee, nduthi and marriage trouble all land because he sounds like he has lived every line. The slang term “Kitemeo” has already slipped into everyday speech on the streets, which says a lot about how deeply the song connects.

This is street music at its most honest. Kapitani does not polish anything, and that raw approach is exactly why it works.
