KATSEYE trades their usual high-energy pop for something softer as “Bel Air” brings a tender, harmony-driven ballad to the WILD EP. The song arrives as the fourth track on the group’s third extended project, which dropped on August 14, 2026.
This one slows things down noticeably. The layered arrangement lets each member’s vocal tone shine through while their stacked harmonies add a fuller, more emotional quality. Producers Stefan Gräslund, Patrik Berger, and Martin Stilling rebuilt the production into a polished pop ballad that fits the group’s current direction.
What makes “Bel Air” special is its backstory. Charli xcx originally wrote the track in December 2013 during her SUCKER album sessions, and electronic producer SOPHIE later worked on a version. HYBE and Geffen Records eventually secured the song and gave it new life for KATSEYE.
The group, formed through the 2023 Dream Academy competition and debuted in June 2024, continues stretching beyond their usual sonic territory. Their catalogue already spans energetic singles and remix projects, but this ballad reveals another layer.
It’s a moment that reminds listeners how unexpected pop history can resurface in fresh hands. Have you played “Bel Air” yet? Share your thoughts in the comments.
