Nigerian artist King OT stays rooted in Igbo tradition as he drops a new Afrosounds record called “Iseee.”
The song sits on his “Voice of the Oracle” album, which carries eleven tracks in total. It arrived on November 17, 2023, with King OT credited as both composer and writer. No guest feature appears on the record, so the weight rests on him alone.
King OT built his sound around Igbo culture and everyday street talk. He runs under Notyme Records, the indie label he formed with an old partner. His catalogue also includes the “Wisdom and Knowledge” EP, so “Iseee” fits into a growing body of work.
The title stretches the Igbo word “ise,” which speakers use the way others say amen. Because the groove stays relaxed, the blessing at its centre has room to land. Soft percussion carries the rhythm while the bass holds firm beneath it.
Records like this one keep regional language visible inside Afrobeats, and that matters for the wider scene.
