Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has linked up with Black Sherif for “Road Rage”, a road-trip record built around drive and ambition. Fans heard it first when M.anifest previewed the song live in Accra. That moment came at his “Nowhere Cool at 10” concert, marking ten years since the “Nowhere Cool” album. The single then arrived with an official lyrics video through Mass Appeal and Singitdamnit Music.
On “Road Rage”, the road trip stands in for life’s journey. Ambition and resilience carry the message, and both artists handle it differently. M.anifest brings a sharp lyrical approach, while Black Sherif adds an emotional, charged delivery. The artwork keeps the theme visible too, with a monster truck sitting on a road sign.
Black Sherif, known as the Iron Boy, comes from Konongo. He grew up in the same town as highlife pioneer Amakye Dede. His 2022 single “Kwaku the Traveller” debuted at number one on the TurnTable Top 50, and the album “Iron Boy” followed in 2025. The Guardian called M.anifest the foremost rapper on the continent in 2015. His sixth album, “New Road & Guava Trees”, landed on Nas’s Mass Appeal label, the same home as this single.
Road records like this rarely stay about the highway for long. They end up saying something about where the people on board are trying to go.
