Mdeshkayro calls on Ftears and Mulest Vankay for “Onoroko,” a loud three-voice record that was built to move a crowd. The South African artist leads a lineup that already knows how to share a beat.
“Onoroko” arrives as a collaboration between Mdeshkayro and Mulest Vankay, with Ftears completing the trio. The track runs just under eight minutes, so there is room for each voice to stretch out.
Mdeshkayro moves through Amapiano and Kwaito, and that range shows in the company kept. He and Mulest Vankay both appeared on “Weskoppies,” the LeeMcKrazy and Toss record with Scotts Maphuma and Massive 95K. Ftears, meanwhile, joined ShaunMusiq on “uShaka” and “Ba Straata.”
The mood here is pure dance floor. Bass hits heavy, percussion cuts sharp, and the energy climbs as each artist takes a turn. Because the drums land early, the groove locks in fast.
