Tanzanian artists Msomali and Vanillah have joined forces on “Utakubali,” and the new Bongo Flava and Singeli-inspired love song pairs two distinctive voices together. The collaboration brings the two artists onto a record shaped by contemporary local sounds.
Dully Kibody produced the track under Vitamin Music. The beatmaker’s involvement gives “Utakubali” a polished backdrop, while Msomali’s energetic delivery drives the record forward. Vanillah, however, brings a smoother melodic touch that softens the edges.
That contrast works because both artists stick to their strengths. Msomali handles the rhythmic weight, but Vanillah’s vocal warmth balances the energy without crowding it. The song centres on attraction and affection, so the push and pull between their styles fits the romantic theme.
Collaborations like this keep the Tanzanian scene moving, because they mix audiences and sounds in one place. Msomali and Vanillah each carry their own musical character into “Utakubali,” yet neither loses ground.
