Skelvin – Obrigado Ft. Arok Hill

Skelvin links with Arok Hill for a new love song called “Obrigado,” keeping his run of releases moving.

The Edo-born artist teams up with Arok Hill on the track, while Young G Mozes handles production. “Obrigado” is the Portuguese word for thank you, and that fits a record built around romantic affection. The mood stays playful and romantic, with a groove made for dancing.

Young G Mozes is a familiar hand for Skelvin, because he also produced “Ghost,” the singer’s earlier record with Yan Yan. He appears on the credits for “Things of the World” with John jazzii too. Skelvin also has “Cana” with Erigga, plus a recent album called The Revelation.

Salami Kasimu Kelvin is the name behind Skelvin, and his Audiomack page lists Afrosounds as his genre while placing him in Benin City. That page shows more than 34 million plays, with “Only Hope” featuring Corizo and “Galilee” near the top of his list. Drg record is listed as his label, while DJs Regent and Browntic have each released a Best of Skelvin mix.

“Obrigado” makes sense in this stretch of his career, since it adds another link to a producer he already trusts. The guest spot gives Arok Hill room to ride a dance-ready groove too.
