Skepta – The Fork And Knife (Album)

British rapper Skepta has returned with “The Fork and Knife,” his first solo album in seven years and sixth studio project. The album arrived through Big Smoke/Epic Records, following his 2019 release “Ignorance Is Bliss.” It marks a major moment for UK rap, because Skepta has been quiet on the solo front for a long stretch.

“The Fork and Knife” finds Skepta working beyond traditional grime, pulling in garage, house, jungle, rave, and electronic sounds. The rollout began with “Innocent Smile,” featuring Chase & Status and Suggs, which gave listeners an early look at the cross-genre direction.

Lyrically, the project digs into identity, immigration, and masculinity. Skepta also draws on his experience as the British son of Nigerian immigrants. The visual and cultural angle connects Nigerian-British life, Windrush history, and modern London.

While the album keeps the high-energy character fans know, it also shows a deeper side. That mix of personal storytelling and club-ready production makes “The Fork and Knife” a fresh chapter in his catalogue.
