Enugu-born rapper Tuff King steps out with “Black Sheepizen,” a six-track debut EP that turns outsider status into fuel for ambition. The project dropped on June 30, 2024, and it immediately stakes a claim for something different.
Across roughly 15 minutes, Tuff King blends indigenous Igbo rap, Afrosounds, trap influences, and energetic percussion into one restless mix. His delivery carries the rawness of street rap while keeping enough melody and rhythm for a contemporary edge. So the EP never sits still, and neither does his voice.
The title “Black Sheepizen” captures the idea of being different and refusing to conform. Instead of hiding from that identity, Tuff King leans into it as a source of strength. He documents personal battles, struggle, rejection, and resilience, but the mood stays forward-moving. Because the determination to push past setbacks runs through every track.
While the EP is a solo introduction, the collaboration here is between Tuff King and his own story. Each song pairs his Igbo roots with modern production, and that fusion carries the project. Yet the real focus stays on his willingness to embrace the label of outsider.
