Zambian Afro-pop star Yo Maps and Namibian rapper Lioness have released “Wish You Knew,” a brand new cross-border single out now. The track pairs two Southern African voices, and it lands as one of the more anticipated link-ups from the region.
“Wish You Knew” arrived on October 2, 2026. Yo Maps handles the melodic foundation with his soulful, Bemba-infused vocal style, while Lioness answers with sharp and confident English rap. The contrast gives the record its pull.
For fans who have followed Yo Maps, the wait was about hearing how he would handle a rapper. He stays in his Afro-pop lane, but Lioness pushes against him rather than around him. That exchange keeps “Wish You Knew” from settling into one mood.
The single also stretches Lioness beyond her own scene. She gets to place her rap style beside Zambia’s Afro-pop sound, and the record becomes a meeting point for two markets. It is a small bridge, yet a useful one.
