WCB Wasafi star Zuchu has joined rising talent De Smile for “Kucheza Unajua,” a Singeli remix built on a viral dance challenge. The record pulls from the “Kama Matua Kumbe Kucheza Unajua” challenge made popular by Matua TZ, which spread fast through dance videos and short-form clips.
With this move, Zuchu steps away from the melodic Bongo Flava and Afro-pop sound that has shaped much of her catalogue. She rides fast percussion and street-inspired production here, while De Smile matches her energy on the Singeli tempo. So the pairing leans fully into Tanzania’s dance-floor culture rather than the smoother lane fans know her for.
The release also shows how a social media moment can grow into a full song. Because the challenge already carried a built-in audience, the “Kucheza Unajua” remix landed inside the country’s fast-moving digital music scene. Yet the shift into Singeli is the real story, since it puts Zuchu in a space she has rarely occupied.
