Lwah Ndlunkulu and MaWhoo join forces on “Paris ne Gucci,” the final track on their joint album “Isithembu.”

The title itself carries a certain cultural irony. “Paris Ne Gucci” inserts two worldwide luxury allusions into a Maskandi context, and that difference is the idea. Apple Music dubbed it a calm finale, with current references that nail fresh variations on the cultural familiarity that permeates the “Isithembu” album.

The genealogy underlying this collaboration is also significant. Both Lwah Ndlunkulu and MaWhoo have personal histories with Mthandeni SK’s multi-platinum hits, “Paris” and “Gucci,” which combined have amassed over 48 million listens on Spotify.
