Nigerian popular skilled artist and outstanding stage performer Asake is back with a brand new project dubbed “M$NEY Album.”
Everything on the album is connected in terms of sound and in terms of direction. This isn’t just a random collection of songs. He clings to what he knows best, melody, rhythm, and a strong street-rooted personality, but leaves the door slightly open for larger, global influence.
One of the things that pops out on the M$NEY Album is the balance. There are reflective moments, music made for sheer feel, and some that have a deeper meaning. Asake doesn’t impose his delivery on any record; he lets each beat breathe. This makes the project easy to listen to from start to finish.
The production on the CD is crisp and consistent. There’s no excess loudness, just some well-placed instrumentals that accompany his voice in the right way. Collaborations also feature in the project, bringing variation without breaking the flow, as DJ Snake, Tiakola, and Kabza De Small all make cameos, each adding their own touch.
M$NEY Album demonstrates progression overall. It’s contained, assured, and repeatable. The project holds up whether listening casually or paying attention to the subtleties.
