South African artist Aspino Boy teams up with Ugandan heavyweight Eddy Kenzo and Ugaboys on “Dis Mus Be Love.”
The collaboration brings together voices from opposite ends of the continent, which doesn’t happen nearly enough in African pop. Eddy Kenzo and Ugaboys have worked together before on tracks like “Freaky Friday” and “Dancy Dancy,” so adding Aspino Boy introduces a Southern African angle to an already established East African partnership. Aspino Boy is signed to Kasba Gang Music, a label he founded himself. Originally from Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he has been building momentum with recent releases including “Choké Freestyle” and “Paranawe.” His Spotify numbers sit at around 2,300 monthly listeners, but collaborations like this signal bigger ambitions.
Eddy Kenzo brings serious weight to any feature. He holds a Grammy nomination and a BET Award, so his name alone lifts the profile of any record he touches. For Aspino Boy, landing that feature is a statement about where he wants to position himself.
The song leans into warm Afropop with dancehall textures. The love theme is clear without being heavy-handed, and the groove stays light and celebratory. Nothing feels forced because the blend of East and Southern African sounds works naturally.
