Chief Michael Udegbi returns with a new Highlife record, “Igwe Ogazi Na Achi,” a praise song honoring traditional Igbo leadership. The visually impaired Nigerian artist built the song around the importance of traditional institutions, so respect for the throne runs through every line.
Udegbi Records presents the track, which Akpamma Studios created. The arrangement leans on Ogene instrumentation, a hallmark of traditional Igbo music, while the message stays rooted in Igbo Highlife. Philosophical ideas and metaphorical praise poems carry the tribute to HRH Igwe Chima Felix Achiekwelu, known as Ogazi 1 n’Achi.
October 2026 is the release window, and the timing suits gatherings where culture takes center stage. “Igwe Ogazi Na Achi” moves with the steady pulse of a ceremony, so it fits chieftaincy events and family occasions alike. Udegbi’s delivery keeps the focus on the monarch and the customs he represents.
