D’Banj answers fans who wanted that old dancefloor energy back with “Oliver Twist (Extended Remix)” featuring DJ Katch. The Afrobeats veteran returns to one of his biggest records, but this time with a club-ready twist.
The remix hands the original to DJ Katch, who rebuilds it with banging kick drums, snappy percussion shakers, and a rolling bassline. Booming synth transitions and crisp drum breaks push the tempo, yet the arrangement never feels crowded. It is a festival-sized rework made for late-night turn-ups.
D’Banj, born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo in Zaria, has been a fixture since his 2005 debut album “No Long Thing,” released through the Mo’Hits imprint he ran with Don Jazzy. He later signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music in 2011. So this remix lands with real history behind it.
His trademark charming delivery and humorous swagger still carry the record, while the songwriting keeps its focus on wanting something badly, enjoying the dance floor, and owning the night.
