Nigerian music veteran D’banj is revisiting one of his biggest crossover records as he drops “Oliver Twist Remix” featuring DJ Katch. The remix gives the Kokomaster’s global Afrobeats anthem a fresh spin for listeners who grew up on the original.
The record pairs D’banj with DJ Katch, and the writing credits list D’Banj, Pitbull and Sensato. A version of the remix featuring Pitbull has also circulated, so the song carries serious crossover history. The Orchard Enterprises handles this release under D’kings Men.
D’banj emerged in 2005 with his debut album “No Long Thing,” released alongside Don Jazzy through Mo’ Hits Records. He followed it with “Rundown Funk U Up,” a project that produced singles like “Tongolo (Remix).” That catalogue shows how far his sound travels, from club records to Afrobeats anthems.
The remix lands at a good moment because the original still moves dance floors. DJ Katch adds a different pulse without losing the cheeky energy of the title. It works as both a nostalgia trip and a party record.
