Deep6 has released “Ekhaya,” a collaboration with Salga and DrummeRTee924 that the write-up describes as a record built around home.
Deep6 and Salga handle the vocal side, while DrummeRTee924 shapes the rhythm underneath them. The track leans on catchy beats and percussive synths rather than a heavy message, according to the write-up.
One write-up noted the song draws listeners closer to home through its blend of melodies and percussion. The record arrived as part of a run that pushed DrummeRTee924 from a bedroom producer into a name now recognized in the Amapiano scene.
“Ekhaya” has amassed nearly one million streams, a strong showing for a record built outside the major-label machinery. That traction matters for artists still establishing their footing.
For listeners following the South African scene, the record sits between a club track and something more reflective.
