Diamond Platnumz joins Xduppy, DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic, Uncool MC, Angekebabuye MC and Ricky Lenyora on “Tse Monate.”
The record is built on heavy log drums, and that rhythm carries the entire arrangement. Diamond rides the beat with a melodic East African delivery instead of fighting it. His verse also carries local flavor, with lines about Tandale and the phrase “Mtoto kasimama dede.”
It is his first time lending vocals to a production crafted by some of South Africa’s leading Amapiano forces. He has explored the genre before, but this lineup puts him beside DJ Maphorisa and Focalistic on the same track. The title is a Sesotho phrase meaning things that are good, nice or enjoyable.
Fans had already turned the snippet into a dance challenge before the song dropped. That early momentum pushed it past a million views on social media, while the official release came through New Money Gang Records in late October.
The beat does most of the talking here, so the guest list never crowds the groove. What do you make of “Tse Monate”? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
