Fake’well keeps building on his run of singles and now returns with “Gqobhoze,” a new amapiano record with guests. The song brings Officixl RSA, DJ Tshegu, Ojay and Mid9t together on one beat. It also lands ahead of a collaborative EP from Fake’well and Officixl RSA, so the pair clearly have more coming.
Officixl RSA anchors the production from the Pretoria side. He blends Bacardi and amapiano, and he is signed with Sony Music Entertainment Africa. Mid9t, meanwhile, comes from Kwamhlanga in Mpumalanga and leans toward Sgija grooves, which explains the melodic touch he adds here.
The chemistry between the two is already proven. Officixl RSA featured Mid9t on “Yah Yah Yah,” and the pair also cooked up “Banyana.” That history shows in how the guests trade space on “Gqobhoze” instead of crowding it.
The arrangement is the real story. A heavy bassline carries the low end, sharp percussion cuts through, and the groove rushes forward without dragging. Each voice steps in, sharpens the energy and hands the mic along. DJ Tshegu and Ojay add texture on top, while Fake’well sets the tone as the lead name.
