Benzoo keeps building on the amapiano lane fans have followed all year, and his new single “Asiwafuni” brings Officixl RSA, Optimist Music ZA and Marvens along.
The record runs six minutes and thirty-nine seconds, so it takes its time. It sits at 113 BPM in G minor, which is gentler than most amapiano cuts. Mixgraph tags it as a warm-up track, and that suits an early slot in a DJ set.
Benzoo is not new to this camp. He was on “Construction” with Officixl RSA and Ulazi, so “Asiwafuni” is not a first meeting. Optimist Music ZA also linked with him on “Fast Fast,” alongside Roscosteazy and JussGigi.
Officixl RSA carries the heaviest name here. The Mamelodi and Pretoria producer signed with Sony Music Entertainment Africa. He has worked with Mellow & Sleazy and Mr JazziQ, and his sound leans on bass built for the dance floor.
For listeners who wanted Benzoo to stay in that pocket, this one fits. An official music video is already out on YouTube. Have you played “Asiwafuni” yet? Drop your take in the comments below.
