Nigerian rapper, actor, and outspoken social commentator Falz comes through with a sharp new release titled “Sound The Alarm.”
He didn’t drop this one quietly either. “Sound The Alarm” arrived the same day as “Church Mind” featuring Priesst and Kurdi Klymax, and putting out two records simultaneously says a lot about how much he’s been creating behind the scenes lately.
If you’ve followed his catalog at all, you already know the pattern. From “This Is Nigeria” all the way through “Moral Instruction,” Falz has built an entire career on saying the things other artists tend to avoid, and the urgency baked into this title fits squarely into that same lineage.
What makes him different from most socially-conscious rappers is the law degree sitting behind his pen. That background shows in how precisely he frames his arguments here, never sounding preachy even when the subject matter clearly demands attention.
