Fireboy DML returns with “CLAAT!”, a bold new single marking the start of his next creative chapter.

The track serves as the lead single from his forthcoming fifth studio album, ZUKO!, which draws heavy inspiration from the character arc of Prince Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. That cinematic vision – centred on themes of resilience, transformation, and redemption – shapes the sonic and visual direction of “CLAAT!” itself. Early teasers have painted a dark, anti-hero aesthetic built around fire, struggle, and personal rebirth, signalling that Fireboy DML intends to push beyond the sound that defined his earlier work.

The YBNL Nation artist, born Adedamola Adefolahan, was discovered by rapper Olamide in 2018 and has since established himself as a generational talent within the African music space. His previous album, Adedamola, cemented his reputation for blending intricate Afrobeats production with deeply personal songwriting.

“CLAAT!” makes sense as the opening statement for a new era. It signals artistic growth without abandoning the melodic sensibility that built his fanbase. The theatrical direction feels intentional and purposeful rather than a departure for its own sake.
