GoldMax has added another Gqom record to his growing catalog with the release of “School of Excellence” on his “State of Gqom” album. The South African artist stays true to the genre’s signature rhythms and energy here, but the arrangement carries its own weight. This single sits as the fifth song off the thirteen-track project. But it earns attention through the production choices around General C’mamane’s contribution. The two craft a record that fits the album’s overall narrative, yet stands out because of how the collaboration was built.
General C’mamane brings something unique to “School of Excellence,” and his contribution matches the production and themes of the song. The track leans into the pulse of the genre, so the rhythm does much of the talking. Listeners get a rich landscape to experience, while the energy never drops off. It also captures the dynamic feel of South African music in 2026 and the creative cooperation between GoldMax and General C’mamane.
