Ghanaian rap titan Kweku Smoke and Dikoo deliver “Mmereniho,” the sixth offering from his seventh studio album “No Days Off.”
The song lands on the same September 4 date as Black Sherif’s “Sun Sherif” EP, which sparked friendly arguments across Ghanaian social media about which project to stream first. However, this collaboration stands on its own as one of the album’s most immediately engaging tracks.
“Mmereniho” runs just over three minutes, produced by SC4 and Whydah. The short runtime plays to its advantage because both performers say their piece and leave gracefully. Dikoo’s verse fits seamlessly with Kweku Smoke’s gruff delivery, making this feel like a genuine two-way collaboration instead of a lead rapper with a supporting act.
Kweku Smoke built this record on confidence. He is not rapping to get discovered anymore. He is rapping knowing others are listening to him, and that energy carries through every bar.
