Muzo AKA Alphonso – No Campaign In Tanzania

Muzo AKA Alphonso steps forward with “No Campaign In Tanzania,” the title track off his ten-song EP of that name.

The record is built around his voice, not around a guest. There is no feature here, so the delivery carries every bar alone. He bends his cadence without losing the beat, then lands each punchline clean. The Bemba lines hit harder because of how he rides them.

The EP rolled out one track at a time before this. “Uncle Ben” opened it with production from Maseleti (Pangoma), while “Dar Es Salaam” and “Namakau Brenda” arrived soon after. Also on the tracklist are “Brain Damage,” “Carpenter,” “One Hour,” “Glue,” “More Alcohol,” and “Group A.”

He stays consistent, and that keeps his fans returning. He runs his own label, Kasama Swag, and his 2018 album “Massacre” carried no features at all. So the solo approach on “No Campaign In Tanzania” is nothing new for him.

What do you make of the delivery on this one? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
