Obedo PF – Shayo

Nigerian artist Obedo PF flips the script with “Shayo,” a party-ready record built on bouncing log drums and bright synth stabs.

While the production carries most of the weight here, the whistle hook creeps in during the chorus for that instant singalong pull. Everything sounds deliberately louder and looser than his previous drop, “Victim.”

The beat quickly brings the momentum back up, yet the shift feels natural because Obedo PF wears it well. He sounds like he is actually at the function, not describing one from the outside. No serious confession or street parable here, simply freedom after four records of darker material.

That juxtaposition is exactly why the record works so brilliantly right now. Sometimes it is just about release, and “Shayo” delivers that release without overthinking it.
