Kenyan R&B singer Otile Brown has joined Tanzanian rapper Darassa for a new cross-border collaboration titled “Kwa Neema.” The record arrives with a reflective edge, and it leans hard on what the two artists put into the writing.
The title translates to “By Grace,” so the song carries a theme of gratitude and the blessings that shape a person’s journey. But it does not stay on the surface. The lyrics touch on friends with knives hidden under their smiles, false prophets and envy, while the narrator refuses to beg for acceptance or let betrayal break him.
There is a stubborn core to “Kwa Neema” too. Lines about falling and rising again, flying like a bird and starting over without fear give the record its spine. Otile Brown handles the melodic weight, having broken through with “Imaginary Love” and now running his own Just In Love Music imprint. Darassa brings the Bongo Flava rap texture, and the two styles sit together without either artist trying to overpower the other.
What makes the Kenyan-Tanzanian exchange work is how it holds the uplifting title against the reality of struggle. The song never pretends the journey was easy. It names the backstabbing and the envy first, then lands on the idea that winning by grace matters more than chasing approval.
