Tay Iwar returns with a late-night slow burner as “NEXT2U” gives fans another taste of his WONDERFUL project this season. The Nigerian singer-songwriter built the record around restraint, letting his voice carry the weight instead of loud production tricks.
“NEXT2U” sits on the WONDERFUL EP, released September 4, 2025, under CoolSweat and Benin City Ent. with Sparta Distribution handling the rollout. Tay Iwar wrote and produced the track himself, which explains why every element bends toward his vocal rather than away from it.
The songwriting keeps things simple. A soft keyboard progression, warm synth chords and light shakers frame a steady drum pulse and a rolling bassline. But the arrangement never crowds him, so his falsetto runs get room to breathe and settle into the pocket.
His pitch control carries the emotional weight here. He stays measured through the verses, then opens up just enough on the hook to sell the longing without overdoing it. That control is why the record works.
