Rising singer Yarden follows her Paris postcard with a softer, shadier new record titled “Twilight,” a song about that blurry hour.
The title points to a moment songwriters keep returning to. Twilight stands for endings, new starts and the odd feeling in between. After the golden glow of “Sunset In Paris,” this one turns the lights down a notch.
Expect hushed keys and a slow, brushed drum pattern underneath. Yarden sings close to the mic with a breathy, careful tone. She sounds like someone watching the sky change and thinking about a person. There is no guest here, so the reflection stays hers alone.
The words circle longing, memory and the quiet before night begins. Short lines keep the picture clear without over-explaining. “Twilight” works as a gentle companion piece to her last drop. Calm, moody and made for the walk home.
