Durban house producer Bongo 039 links with DJ Nkabza on “TAGS,” keeping his current run rolling right along.
The new record is a Durban house cut, and it lands as another entry in a busy stretch for the producer. He already has “Angeke” featuring Blaq Seed in his catalog, so pairing a strong beat with a guest voice is familiar ground for him.
Bongo 039, born Bongumusa Zondi in Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal, now works out of Durban. He builds deep, soulful and Afro-infused house, and he has linked up with Dlala Thukzin, Sykes, Zaba and Mthunzi along the way.
DJ Nkabza adds a second flavour here, so the groove keeps shifting instead of sitting still. The result is smooth and rhythmic, but it still carries enough weight for the dance floor.
