Tanzanian hip-hop artist Darassa has released an official video for “YE’,” his collaboration with the veteran Taarab singer Khadija Kopa. The song first came out on September 24, 2026, with the clip following. CMG presents the visuals, which were shot in Dar es Salaam.
The record pairs two generations and two traditions, according to the report. Darassa brings hip-hop and Bongo Flava, with the conversational rap delivery associated with him. Khadija Kopa brings Taarab, with classical Swahili phrasing and the emotional depth that tradition values.
The song’s subject is love. Darassa voices romantic feelings in plain, direct bars, while Khadija Kopa answers with richer, more poetic language. The report states that contrast keeps the song from sounding like a standard feature.
The clip has climbed YouTube’s trending lists in Tanzania and Kenya, according to the report. Cross-genre work is familiar ground for Darassa, who has teamed with Harmonize on “Love Design” and with Khaligraph Jones on “Beginning.”
