Drake keeps his current run moving as he joins Don Toliver on “Solar Eclipse,” a Texas-flavoured cut from the “HABIBTI” deluxe edition. The song runs 3 minutes and 38 seconds and came out on October 2, 2026, through OVO and Republic. It lands as part of a four-track deluxe pack tied to “HABIBTI (FOMO),” the short film Drake premiered weeks earlier. The pack also carries “Cold Shoulder,” which features Don Toliver and Yebba, plus “Quebec” and “Classic Pt. 2.”

The Texas angle sits at the centre of “Solar Eclipse.” The record interpolates Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” which has spent 24 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It also borrows from Bun B’s 2005 classic “Get Throwed,” so two eras of Texas music meet in one song. The lyrics name-check Houston-area suburbs like Katy, Sugar Land, and Fort Bend, and that local colour is hard to miss.

The rollout was unusual, but it worked. Drake attended an Ella Langley concert in August 2026, then debuted the song during a livestream in September. He later confirmed the tracks were coming while gambling on a Kick stream. So fans heard it early, and the official release simply confirmed what they already knew.

Don Toliver is a natural fit for the setting because he grew up in Houston, so the regional references land with him too. Together, the two give the record a loose, late-night mood. Have you played “Solar Eclipse” yet? Drop your take in the comments below.
