Echo Deep gives listeners another look inside the Vusani album as “Impilo” arrives with Khanya De Vocalist, Cuba Beats and Scrooge KMOA joining. The song sits sixth on the 11-song project, and it carries a strong collaborative feel from start to finish.
Khanya De Vocalist, Cuba Beats and Scrooge KMOA each bring something distinct to “Impilo.” The blend of voices and rhythms holds together as one sound, while the guest turns add texture to the record. It lands mid-album, so it carries real weight in the tracklist.
Echo Deep builds the sound from a South African base, and the variety of influences shows in the listening. The tune reflects the different genres moving through the country’s music culture right now. Because of that, “Impilo” fits neatly into the wider story of Vusani and keeps the 11 tracks connected.
