Nigerian singer-songwriter FOLA keeps his run moving as he returns with “miss u ii (nriri),” a sequel to an earlier record. The Afrobeats single arrived on October 6, 2026, and follows “Miss You,” which first landed in October 2023.
So the new song picks up a story he left open. FOLA, born Afolarin Odunlami, had been teasing “miss u ii (nriri)” across social media before the midnight release, and the anticipation built among listeners who knew the first instalment. He revisits the theme of longing here while giving the melody plenty of room.
His credentials run deep already. The Lagos-based artist broke through with “alone,” signed to Bella Shmurda’s Dangbana Republik, and released his debut album, “Catharsis,” on 4 September 2025. He has also appeared alongside Davido and Mayorkun on “B4 B4.”
The sequel leans on his soulful vocal delivery, which carries the vulnerable subject matter over a contemporary Afrobeats foundation. Nothing gets crowded out, because the arrangement leaves space for the voice to lead. It extends the original’s narrative without repeating it.
